Welcome to the first post of "Your Guide to the Cape Life" – your insider resource for everything Cape San Blas! As the proud owners of Two Palms Villa, we're excited to share our love for this pristine peninsula that has captured our hearts and keeps our guests coming back year after year.
First-time visitors often ask what sets Cape San Blas apart from other Florida beach destinations. The answer lies in what you won't find here – no high-rise condos blocking the horizon, no traffic jams, no noisy beach clubs. Instead, you'll discover:
Pristine Beaches: Consistently ranked among America's best, our sugar-white sand beaches stretch for 17 miles
Pet-Friendly Shores: One of the few Florida beaches where your four-legged family members are welcome
St. Joseph Peninsula State Park: Over 1,900 acres of protected wilderness with hiking trails and wildlife
Dark Skies: Minimal light pollution means spectacular stargazing
Fresh Seafood: From oysters to grouper, the local catch is always impressive
Our journey with Two Palms Villa began three years ago when we fell in love with Cape San Blas during a weekend getaway. What was meant to be a brief vacation turned into a passion project as we discovered this hidden paradise and decided to create a retreat where others could experience the magic of "Cape time."
Located just steps from the beach, Two Palms Villa offers our guests the perfect balance of comfort and coastal charm. The gentle sound of waves, breathtaking sunsets, and star-filled nights create memories that last long after the sand is washed from your feet.
Cape San Blas offers a unique experience in every season:
Spring (March-May): Mild temperatures, wildflowers in bloom, and fewer crowds make this a perfect time for beach walks and exploring.
Summer (June-August): Our busiest season brings warm Gulf waters ideal for swimming, abundant sea turtle nesting sites, and spectacular thunderstorms that clear as quickly as they arrive.
Fall (September-November): Perhaps our favorite time of year – warm waters, perfect temperatures, lower rates, and spectacular sunsets.
Winter (December-February): While cooler, winter brings its own charm with empty beaches, excellent shelling, and the peaceful solitude that many of our returning guests treasure.
For your first visit, we recommend starting at the Cape San Blas Lighthouse. Though relocated from its original position due to shoreline erosion, this historic structure stands as a testament to the area's rich maritime history. The view from the top offers a spectacular panorama of the peninsula and helps you get your bearings for exploring.
