We are transforming our vacation house rental into a nightly bedroom rental. Currently, in the aftermath of Michael there is huge demand for temporary housing and little, to no, availability in Gulf County. We are trying to address this huge problem and offering our beautiful 5+ bedroom in the hopes that some of these overworked adjusters, hurricane relief helpers, and just concerned or worried homeowners will have a place to come on a short-term basis that is convenient and comfortable.
We are located at 181 S. Higgins Street in Port Saint Joe (Indian Pass Location). We are just steps away from the beautiful beach on the Gulf of Mexico. This is conveniently located in the center of Gulf County. This spacious house location has two surround decks. Each of the four bedrooms has it’s own private access to the decks and of course can also be access from within the house. Four of the bedrooms have full bathrooms and closets. Three of the four bedrooms have king-sized beds and the fourth bedroom has two twin beds. The fifth bedroom, also know as the Great Room, is suitable for hostel living which, will be ideal for family’s with kids. There are two sets of bunkbeds, and a trundle bed, that sleeps two as well. There are two access doors to the decks. The powder room serves as the bathroom for the Great Room. $50 per night for single bed in shared Great Room. For families or groups we will rent out the whole Great room, that sleeps 6, for $200.
A breakfast buffet (7:30 AM to 9:30 AM) and room cleaning services are included with the cost of the bedroom. Concierge services such as washing of clothes, preparation of meals, Lunch Box and other services are available at an additional cost. Dogs permitted, on a case by case basis and will be an additional fee.
I want to be one hundred percent transparent, this place has been devastated and resembles a war zone. The area has made tremendous strides towards recovery. Aid workers continue to pour in and hopefully our small effort at providing temporary housing can add some value. Be prepared to see debris: boardwalks, furniture appliances and even boats stacked up on the side of the road for pick-up. Gulf county will come back stronger than ever.
Three Palms Compound/Short Term Bed Rental, has three to four feet of debris on the streetside in front of the house. Wood, utensils, shrubbery, and items that were damaged by the flood. It is not attractive. However, if you need to be in this area for any reason (an insurance adjuster, a hurricane relief worker and owners who are concerned about their homes or the area will find a warm, spacious, comfortable and sound place to sleep, and perhaps take a stroll on the beach. Three Palms is completely recovered on the interior. The place, as always, is spotless on the inside. It will provide a soothing sanctuary amidst the damaged area. There is nothing like a warm and comfortable bed, a hot shower, and a warm breakfast to help you navigate the stress and chaos we are currently experiencing.
Like all of gulf county, we are experiencing some inconveniences. We are currently without Mediacom service and have no cable, limited wifi, and inconsistent cellphone service. We have been assured, as many areas of Gulf county, have been restored already , that Indian Pass, and Three Palms Compound, will have service restored shortly, as well.
Three Palms pool is currently out of commission, however, the comfortable lounge chairs are not. The fence that surrounds the pool has also not been rebuilt. We have a few soffits underneath the roof that are covered by tarps, a minor nuisance. And we lost all of our screened in porches but the insects are not an issue this time of year. There are abundant areas on both decks where you can still sit and relax and enjoy the views of the Gulf of Mexico. And a few minor aesthetic issues. We have personally stayed there for a week and have had renters in Three Palms this week (November 6th). We have power, air conditioning and heat, water and working toilets and showers.
You will awaken to a Breakfast Buffet and your room will be cleaned if you are staying for more than one day. My staff and I will assist you in any way possible!
